The St. Clair County RESA offers beginning driver training and Commercial Driver License (CDL) training to prospective bus drivers.

Beginning School Bus Driver Training 

Persons interested in earning bus driver certification may complete the required 18 hours of instruction through RESA. Beginning driver training is held every 90 days. Classes are conducted from 7 a.m to 1 p.m. without a lunch break on the following dates:

 

  • August 5, 6, 7, 2008
  • November 4, 5, 6, 2008
  • February 3, 4, 5, 2009
  • May 4, 5, 6, 2009
  • August 4, 5, 6, 2009
  • November 3, 4, 5, 2009

Continuing Education Training 

The RESA also offers ongoing training to bus drivers to maintain their certifications every two years. The next two-day training will be offered again in Summer 2009.
