St. Clair County RESA is known for providing professional development training and support for our constituent districts. The RESA is dedicated to training local district staff members in technology use. Training can occur either at RESA's state-of-the-art facility or, if more convenient, at any district site. In addition to regularly scheduled computer training sessions, RESA provides instruction based on the trainee's schedule, working before or after school hours, so there is little disruption to the school day.
RESA's technology team training ranges from the use of basic operating systems to full application instruction. RESA supports all Microsoft Office products, PageMaker, GroupWise, TestWiz, and Inspiration. It also supports such peripherals as digital cameras, scanners, CD writers and the videoconferencing carts.
By arrangement, RESA also provides training in subject- and age-specific software and helps to integrate technology into the classroom while complying with state standards and benchmarks.
RESA employees are active in statewide technology organizations such as:
- MACUL (Michigan Association for Computer Users in Learning)
- RITS (Regional Instruction Tech Specialist)
- TWICE (Two Way Interactive Connections in Education, a Michigan organization that provides videoconference support to local districts)
- USDLA (United States Distance Learning Association)
