
Pine River Nature Center BuildingThe Pine River Nature Center building is a 5,000 square-foot, log-style structure. It opened February 2003. The center is available for rental by local school districts and non-profit organizations. See How to Reserve a Room at right to plan a unique staff retreat, meeting or training session.
 Nature Displays A large exhibit room in the nature center building has many things to see and touch. It's a great way to discover nature. The room features a variety of nature displays including 75 specimens of furs and taxidermy of animals from St. Clair County and the north woods. The room also contains several live animals including: - Great Lakes Fish Aquarium
- Snapping Turtle
- Eastern Spiny Softshell Turtle
- Pine River fish and snails
 Skywatch ExhibitThe new Skywatch exhibit provides updates on astronomical events, monthly constellations, and the latest research in astronomy. It is broadcast live from NASA's Space Telescope Science Institute.
ClassroomsThe basement of the nature center is used for classroom instruction. It contains a classroom and wet lab. A ceiling mounted digital projector can be used for mulimedia presentations. The classroom capacity is 45 students. 
A wet lab area is ideal for hands-on science investigations. In addition, the nature center has stereo-microscopes which students can use to examine specimens.

How to Reserve a Room To reserve the nature center, call (810) 364-5477 to determine availability. Priority is given to school programs. Once you have secured a date, time and room, please fill out a room reservation form and return it to the center. Room reservation form
Fees and General Information Please make checks payable to St. Clair County RESA. Fees:- St. Clair County school districts - FREE
- Non-profit organizations - $35 a day if you don't eat in the building, $70 a day if you consume food.
Food:Catering is NOT available, but you are welcome to bring your own food or coordinate catering. A toaster oven, coffeemaker and microwave are available. There is very limited space in the refrigerator. There is a $10 charge to use the nature center's grill.
About the BuildingA gas fireplace, rustic interior, and nature-inspired artwork will create a relaxing and productive atmosphere to make your event exceptional. The meeting room can hold up to 14 people. Inside is a large white board and motorized screen.
