Information Technology Information Technology Academy 
The Information Technology program taught through the Information Technology Academy is dedicated to training students in computer technology. Students will work with computer hardware and computer networks. First-year students attend classes at TEC. Classes address hardware support and basic computer network administration. The academy is in the St. Clair TEC building on the RESA campus, 499 Range Road, Marysville. Second-year students will have the opportunity to attend Baker College for study in advanced network administration. They will complete four classes at Baker College in preparation for Microsoft Networking Professional Certification. Upon successful completion of course work, students may sit for qualifying Microsoft examinations. PLEASE NOTE: All students must receive teacher recommendation to continue for the second year placement at Baker College. Second-year students must provide their own transportation to Baker College. - PC hardware components
- Working with Windows and DOS
- Building a PC system
- Troubleshooting/diagnosing
- System board/peripherals
- Multimedia systems
- Network support (comp TIA Net certification)
- Understanding computer architecture
- Understanding computer networks
- Network file systems
- Install/configure workstations
- Managing workstations
TEC provides A plus Certification instruction allowing students to qualify for the A plus Certification test and become A plus Certified Technicians, which is a nationally recognized credential. In addition, TEC students will also receive training towards the Comp TIA Net Certification Exam. The Information Technology Program is designed to give high school students the opportunity to participate in the Business, Management, Marketing & Technology Career Pathway.
