Information Technology

Information Technology is dedicated to training students in computer technology. Students will work with computer hardware, software and networking. First year students attend classes at TEC and cover CompTIA A+ (IT Technician) and CompTIA Network+.

TEC prepares students during the first year to become A+ and Network+ certified. These are nationally recognized credentials. For more information regarding CompTIA A+ and Comp TIA Network+, go to www.comptia.org


Second-year students will have the opportunity to attend Baker College for advanced training in Cisco computer networking. They will complete four classes at Baker College in preparation to become a CCNA (Cisco Certified Network Associate). Upon successful completion of course work, students may take qualifying Cisco examinations.


Please Note: All students must receive teacher recommendation to continue for the second year placement at Baker College. Second-year students must provide their own transportation to Baker College.

Students in the Information Technology program at TEC may earn the following Baker College credits:
   First year credits (at TEC)             12
   Second year credits (at Baker)    28
   Total credits                                   40
