Electronics

Information Technology Academy

The Electronics Program is taught through the Information Technology Academy. The academy is housed in the St. Clair TEC building on the RESA campus, 499 Range Road, Marysville.

Electronics technicians help design, develop, test, and manufacture such electronic equipment as radios, radar, sonar, televisions, industrial and medical measuring or control devices, navigational equipment and computers.

Students learn analog, digital and electronic circuits, semiconductors and AC/DC theory. Students will apply electronic theory through hands-on laboratory experiments, project-based learning, and circuit simulation software. Both first- and second-year students will participate in group projects related to speaker box design and programming of robotic games.

Second-year students will have the opportunity to complete the nationally recognized Electronic Technician Certification.

Specific areas of study include

Electronics Technician I

Constructing Electronic Circuitry

Ohm’s Law/Watt's Law

Electromagnetism

Capacitors and Inductors

Transformers

Diodes and Transistors

FET and MOSFET Devices

Electronics Technician II

Construct/Test Transistor Amps

Repair Transistor Circuits

Repair Power Supplies/Regulators

Construct Oscillator & Pulse Circuits

Electronics Communication Techniques
