Duane Emig

Metal Machining Technology

 

  • St. Clair High School graduate
  • Ferris State University: Bachelor of Science in Technical Education

 

Emig, who enjoyed science- and math-related courses in high school, was also a student at TEC studying manufacturing. Emig worked in both medical manufacturing and mold-making manufacturing after graduating. He later returned to TEC as an instructor teaching night classes to adults. In 1999, Emig took over the Metal Machining program for TEC high school students.

 

Emig likes teaching a skilled trade that enables students to make a living in the manufacturing industry. He says the Metal Machining program gives them the chance to be creative and to produce custom parts with the end consumer in mind.
