It is such a wonderful opportunity to lead a school like the Academic Transitional Academy. The ATA has an energetic staff dedicated to helping students connect to school and experience success. Prior to becoming principal at the ATA, I was the Assistant Director for K-5 Science at the St. Clair County RESA for 3 years. I spent seven years with the Lapeer County Intermediate School District as the Science Teaching Consultant and Agriscience Program Teacher and Director. I began my career in education in 1990 as a middle school science teacher in the Detroit Public Schools. I am married with an 12-year-old daughter. Outside of school I like to ride my bike, fish a little, read books in the evening (until I fall asleep), and spend time learning new ways to communicate with family and friends using technology. A goal of mine this year is to start a blog to communicate more frequently about what we are doing at the ATA and why and to solicite more questions and comments from those interested in the ATA.
