RESA offers beginning driver training and Commercial Driver License (CDL) training to prospective bus drivers.

Beginning school bus driver training 

Persons interested in earning bus driver certification may complete the required 18 hours of instruction through RESA. Beginning driver training is held every 90 days.

Three-day classes

2018 dates:

  • August 20, 21 and 22 (Aug 20 & Aug 21: 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. with a 30 minute lunch;
    Aug 22: 7 to 10 a.m.)
  • September 25, 26 and 27 (7 a.m to 1 p.m. daily without a lunch break)
  • December 4,5 and 6 (7 a.m to 1 p.m. daily without a lunch break)

2019 dates:

  • March 19, 20 and 21
  • May 28, 29 and 30

Continuing education training 

The RESA also offers ongoing training to bus drivers to maintain their certifications every two years. Drivers need six hours of training to retain certification. Classes are conducted from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Supervisor training

RESA offers training for transportation supervisors every two years. There are no classes scheduled at this time.
